seems you’ve been climbing high yourself – and, as they say when you hit the top of Everest, you are about to be ‘summiting’ … that brief time of seeing the whole world, 360 degrees, from that tiny spot of great height and great accomplishment, before climbing down again, completely exhausted.
Homeless Calgarians are in your debt.
As are Calgarians with food on their table and roofs overhead who are one-bad-mistake away from that fate themselves, grateful that you do what you do. Please keep doing. But be careful – and get some rest – because it is such an exhausting descent.
And I wonder if that is true for those who slide down-slope into that spiral of homelessness and all its cousins (substances, ill-health, chronic unemployment, mental illness) is an exhausting descent as well – something we smug and snug ones easily overlook.
Your light is shining and giving hope to many.
