Me: Beaumont. What are you doing?

Beau: Sitting.

Me: On my lap.

Beau: My… you are observant Louise.

Me: It’s kind of hard not to be. You’re too big and heavy to be a lapdog.

Beau: I ain’t heavy. I’m your brother.

Me: Right. And it’s a long, long road with many a winding turn.

Beau: You got it Louise! I’m no burden to bear.

Me: Beau… why are you quoting the lyrics of a ’70s song you’ve never even heard before?

We Need To Talk

Beaumont: Louise, we need to talk.

Me: Uh huh. About what?

Beau: Like you don’t know.

Me: Ummm. Beau. No I don’t.

Beau: Yes you do.

Me: (sighing)Honestly Beau. I don’t. I can’t read your mind.

Beau: Really? And all this time I thought that’s how you wrote these conversations. By reading my mind.

Me: (sighing deeper) Sarcasm is the refuge of the verbally lazy.

Beau: Well… I wonder who you’re talking about. You do put the words in my mouth you know…

Enjoy And Let Go

Beaumont the Sheepadoodle always has so much to say about my trips away.

And this one is no different.

I’ve posted his blog this morning (yes, it’s Monday) and wanted to share it here.

He said it’s the least I can do for going away. Again. 🙂

You can read it HERE.

Give A Dawg Some Peace (An SWB Blog)

Beaumont: Seriously. Who let the cat on the bed?

Me: Ummm… Beau. Who let the dawg on?

Beau: Ya but, I live here.

Me: Yabuts run in fields.

Beau: Oh my. Yabuts. Rabbits. Ha! Ha! You probably think you’re funny.

Me: Don’t you?

Beau: Nope.

Louise: Not even a little bit…?

Beau: Nope. Now, my friends Rod and Anne and Mitzi. Oh, and CeZar too! They’re funny. You… Well, let’s just say you could use some practice at fun and funny.

Me: You mean like how I didn’t think it was funny you ran through the invisible screen door yesterday.

Please Don’t Sing (A SWB post)

It stormed last night. Thunder. Lightning. Wind. Rain.

Beaumont doesn’t like thunder and lightning. Nor wind. They scare him.

I awoke at around 4am to the sound of him standing over me on the bed, panting noisily.

Me:  Beau. What is it?

Beau:  Huff. Huff. Huff.

Me:  Go back to sleep.

Beau:   Huff. Huff. Huff.

Me:  Oh. It’s the lightning and thunder.

Beau:  Huff. Huff. Huff.

Me:  C’mon. You’re already up on the bed, just curl up and go to sleep.

Beau: (placing his wet nose on my cheek) I’m scared.

Me:  It’s just a storm Beau. It will pass.

Beau:  That’s a stupid saying when you’re in the middle of it.

Is That Sarcasm I Taste? (a SWB post)

I have been baking breads and cookies, pies and Foccacia but the one thing I haven’t baked, which Beaumont had to remind me of today, is dawgie biscuits. Oh Dawg. I’m in trouble now!

Join Beaumont on his blog, Sundays with Beaumont, and find out just how much trouble I’m in, not just because of the lack of doggie biscuits but also because of my sarcasm.

You can find the conversation HERE.

You’re a Dawg. Not a Bunny. (A SWB post)

Me:  Beaumont. What are you doing?

Beaumont:  The question isn’t what am I doing, it’s, “What aren’t you doing?

Me:  I’ll bite. What aren’t I doing?

Beau:  Well, first off, using stupid phrases like, “I’ll bite” with a dawg is something you shouldn’t be doing.

Me:  Oh. Right. Sorry. Okay. Just tell me, because I know you will anyway, what aren’t I doing?

Beau:  It’s pretty obvious. What day is today?

Me:  I’ll bi.. Oops. Sorry. It’s Monday.

Beau:  Big enough hint for you?

Me:  It’s Easter Monday?

Beau:  Doesn’t matter what kind of Monday it is. It’s Monday. Writing my blog on Monday is a dereliction of your duties.

Me:  I was busy yesterday.

Beau:  Right. Painting silly little bunnies for your dinner guests on Zoom.

Me:  It was important. I wanted everyone to feel like we were all still celebrating together. And I always make placecards for dinner.

Beau:  Hmmm…. I don’t remember seeing one with my name on it.

Me:  You’re a dawg, not a bunny.

Beau:  Excuse me? And your guests are…

Stay Calm And Knead On! (A SWB post)

Me:   Beau. What are you doing?

Beaumont:  Watching you.

Me:  What on earth for?

Beau:  Because the earth needs me to do it.

Me:   Ummm…. I’m confused. Why does the earth need you to watch me?

Beau:  Because the earth needs its hoomans to stay calm and keeping humans calm is a dawg’s most important job right now and I’m doing my job.

Me:  By watching me?

Beau:   I’m a watch dog. Right?

Beau: The Doga of Yoda (An SWB post)

Beaumont: Louise. You know Nana’s going to be okay. Right?

Me: How do you know?

Beau: She’s walking to her Rainbow Bridge. That’s a cause for celebration. She’s had a good life.

Me: Yes Beau. It is. (pause) Ummm… How did you know?

Beau:  About Nana? Oh ye’ of little faith. How could I not? I am a dawg. My seventh sense is strong.

Me:  Seventh sense? What’s that?

Beau:  To see into the heart and soul of humans.
